Traders are minting money in the name of GST

The traders of the city have started practising Zero Business tactics in post GST regime. They are making sales to the customers without issuing bills. Traders are minting money by doing it. While making the centre, the state and the consumers to suffer heavy losses, said C V Anand commissioner of civil supplies and legal metrology. Mr Anand had initiated state vide drive against GST violators in the past month and booked nearly 1500 cases.
Raids are conducted recently by civil supplies, commercial taxes and legal metrology officials. They have booked more than 300 cases against the traders using malpractices. A fine of 5.14 lakh was recovered from them, in the form of penalties.


It’s observed that large scale violations were unearthed in Kotti, Mehdipatnam, Begum Bazar, Raniganj, Malakpet, Nampalli, Siddiamber and Dilsukhnagar. Traders are found in Charminar, Ghosamahal, Uppal, Dilsukhnagarand Borabonda areas making their purchase without bills. Traders are procuring Gutka, a 28 GST item, without bill and invoices from other states. They are procuring Palm Oil and Ghutka from Kakinada and Krishnapatnam ports in AP and construction material, electrical, electronics items from Chennai port. Cloth merchants are procuring textile material from Gujarat without bills and selling it to the prospective consumers after charging mandatory GST, without issuing bills to them.
Commercial tax officials requested the consumers to insist for bills while making their purchases.
